Teen Auto Accidents Down?
On July 1, Colorado will join the many states that have restrictions on the licenses that new drivers can get. For new drivers under sixteen, they must hold a license for six months before they can drive with a passenger under twenty-one. For the next six months they can drive with only one passenger under twenty-one. For many new drivers, these restrictions seem ridiculous, yet most adults agree with the restrictions. The large number of teen auto accidents that occur increase exponentially with each passenger that is added to the car. Auto accident lawsuits can highlight the danger and responsibility that a driver assumes when they get behind the wheel as well. Not only do personal injuries illustrate the danger of getting behind the wheel, but the large fiscal settlements also illustrate the financial danger of reckless driving that leads to an accident. Law firms are notorious for their defense of auto accident victims and for the high settlements they win for their clients. When all the responsibilities and dangers, both physical and fiscal, that come with driving are considered, even teen drivers can accept the new law as beneficial.
