Tougher Regulations for Children's Ads

As most Americans know, obesity is now a leading cause of death in the United States. Unfortunately, taking diet pills to regain a healthy body can be hazardous to your health as well. The injuries you may sustain from the use of certain diet pills can be life threatening. The attorneys at Trief & Olk in New York and New Jersey have depth and breadth of experience in pharmaceutical litigation to represent those who have sustained injuries from diet pills.
But, as representatives of the public, the firm is relieved to hear that tougher regulations for children's ads will soon be implemented in an attempt to curb obesity in children. If children can learn healthy eating habits at a young age, diet pills will no longer be necessary. Among the tougher regulations are ways to crack down on product placement in TV shows, the use of licensed characters in ads and food packaging and "advergaming," the practice of showing online games with brands of candy, soft drinks, and cereals. Currently, over 12 billion dollars are spent annually on advertising for children. Hopefully the new regulations will reduce the number of obese children, and eventually eliminate the market for dangerous diet pills.
