Alaska Bar Association

In the State of Alaska, many people are injured because of the negligence, recklessness, or intentional misconduct of an individual or company. These people have the opportunity to file a personal injury lawsuit with the help of a lawyer in their state. Unfortunately, not all people that call themselves lawyers are reputable or able to properly launch a lawsuit. Membership in the Alaska Bar Association is the reassurance needed to insure that an individual is qualified to present a court case in front of Alaska courts.

The Alaska Bar Association is the regulatory association for legal professionals in Alaska. It is responsible for admissions, licensing, ethics, discipline, and continuing lawyer education. The association also provides a lawyer referral service and information for the public. Currently, the board of governors is made up of twelve legal professionals and one member of the public. The Board oversees the actions of the Alaska Bar Association.

The Alaska Bar Association is a Mandatory Bar. All prospective lawyers in the state must meet the Bar’s rigorous entrance requirements before they can practice law in the state of Alaska. The Bar provides services in admissions, licensing, ethics, discipline, continuing legal education programs, annual conventions, lawyer referral services, substantive law sections and committees, and information for the public.
