University of Arkansas at Little Rock – William H. Bowen School of Law

Established in 1975, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law provides an academic experience that is challenging and rigorous, while supportive at the same time. The curriculum at the School of Law emphasizes both legal theory and the practical application of this knowledge. Located within a five minute drive from downtown Little Rock, students have access to the majority of Arkansas’s largest law firms, the State Capitol, the federal courthouse, the Arkansas Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, and several state agencies and private corporations. Recognizing the lifestyle challenges faced by law students, the School of Law provides a part-time evening program in addition to the full-time day program. Students receive instruction in the core required courses, with special emphasis placed upon writing, research, and trial advocacy. Skills such as interviewing, counseling, mediation, negotiation, and drafting of legal documents are covered in various elective courses. Students may further develop these skills by enrolling in one of the clinical programs offered by the School of Law.
