Queen's Bench Bar Association

Established in 1921, the Queen’s Bench Bar Association of the San Francisco Bay Area was formed as a response to the refusal of male to accept the participation of women lawyers in the local bar association. Queen’s Bench strives to advance the interests of women, and plays an important role in furthering the opportunities available for women in the legal profession. The Association works through various committees and programs to achieve several goals regarding equal rights and equal opportunity for women. These programs are designed to eliminate gender bias, encourage upward mobility of women lawyers, protect reproductive rights, and encourage legislative and judicial reforms. Queen’s Bench participates in several community projects, including meeting with young women in San Francisco’s Juvenile Hall and providing scholarships for law students at Hastings and University of San Francisco law schools. All members of the legal profession and law students who share in the mission of Queen’s Bench are invited to join the organization.
