Hawaii State Bar Association

In the State of Hawaii, many people are injured because of the negligence, recklessness, or intentional misconduct of an individual or company. These people have the opportunity to file a personal injury lawsuit with the help of a lawyer in their state. Unfortunately, not all people that call themselves lawyers are reputable or able to properly launch a lawsuit. Membership in the Hawaii State Bar Association (HSBA) is the reassurance needed to insure that an individual is qualified to present a court case in front of Hawaii courts.

The Hawaii State Bar Association is the regulatory organization for the legal profession in the state of Hawaii. The official mission of the HSBA is "To unite and inspire Hawaii's lawyers to promote justice, serve the public, and improve the legal profession." The association develops and maintains integrity amongst its members, promotes education of legal professionals, and informs the public about legal issues.

The Hawaii State Bar Association was founded in 1899 and official incorporated in 1985. Later that year the Hawaii Supreme Court ordered the creation of a unified bar and designated it as the administrative entity of the unified bar. Unification democratized the governance of the legal profession. The association was granted the power and responsibility to aid the Court in regulating, maintaining, and improving the legal profession. Imbued with a new sense of direction and purpose, the organization was able to formulate the current mission statement, establish goals, and launch new programs.
